    Buyer’s Guide to Hemp Flowers

    Buyer’s Guide to Hemp Flowers

Hemp has been a somewhat controversial subject for many years here in the United States.  While it was once quite popular across the nation, there is a bit of stigma surrounding it now.  Of course, if you’re here, you probably know that this shouldn’t be the case.

There are a lot of benefits that can come with hemp, especially hemp flowers.  If you want to learn more about that, then make sure to stay tuned!  We’ll be covering what they can be used for, as well as some other details about them.

Now, if you’re worried about legality, we have good news for you.  As you can see here: https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4395/6/4/58, the conversation has become a lot less complex.  Recent laws have made hemp flowers legal in the United States. We’ll delve into all of that, don’t worry.

    What is Hemp?

First thing’s first – we need to take a look at what hemp actually is!  Hemp is a variety of the Cannabis sativa plant species that is cultivated specifically for industrial uses. There’s a big difference between hemp and marijuana, though.  Allow us to explain.

Hemp contains low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).  That’s the main thing that sets it apart from cannabis, which has high levels of THC.  THC is what causes the “high” for users.

In many countries, hemp is defined as cannabis containing 0.3% THC or less.  So, make note of that if you’re looking for something like a Mr. Hemp Flower Subscription Service – they’ll probably provide that disclaimer.

    Hemp for Health and Wellness

Hemp has garnered considerable attention in the health and wellness sector.  As you can probably guess, there are plenty of reasons for this.  We’ll be covering some of them.

Just remember that this list may not be comprehensive.  If you aren’t sure about any of this, you can also consult with a healthcare professional.  Plenty of patients benefit from hemp in a variety of ways, though.

    Cannabidiol (CBD)

This is probably what most of us think of when we hear about hemp in the wellness sector.  CBD oils (and other products) are huge right now.  Why is that, though?

CBD is often used for its analgesic properties.  Many individuals report that it helps alleviate chronic pain and inflammation.  Naturally, that’s a pretty big deal.  That’s especially true in situations where patients aren’t able to use traditional painkillers.

After all, opioids, including prescriptions ones, can be addictive.  In many cases, they’re not a long-term solution for pain management.  These oils and flowers offer an alternative.

What else is there?  Well, research suggests that CBD may have anxiolytic (anxiety-reducing) effects. Therefore, many people use these sorts of products to manage stress and anxiety.  It will likely depend on the person.

Another aspect is sleeping aid.  For some, it helps improve sleep quality and manage insomnia.  In that sense, it’s not hard to see how it’s a popular choice for anyone wanting better rest.

Preliminary studies indicate that CBD may have neuroprotective effects.  It could be beneficial for conditions like epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.  Just remember that this is still in the early stages of research.

    Nutritional Benefits

At first, this might sound a bit strange.  However, there are some real nutritional benefits with certain hemp products.  One example is seeds.

These seeds are highly nutritious.  That’s because they are a complete source of protein.  In fact, they contain all nine essential amino acids. They are also rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which support heart health.

Beyond that, they also contain plenty of vitamins and minerals.  Examples include Vitamin E, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium.  All of these contribute to overall well-being and health maintenance.

    Skin Health

As with all these entries, bear in mind that this may depend on the product that you’re using.  However, hemp flowers can be bought and turned into many different things.  That’s worth keeping in mind if you want to try multiple applications.

Hemp oil and CBD-infused skincare products are popular right now.  That’s because of their potential anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties. They may help alleviate conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

Lotions and creams are just a few examples of them.  The flowers can be broken down and infused into those products, if you would prefer to use the plant in several ways.

    What are Hemp Flowers?

With all of this covered, let’s take a look at the flowers in specific.  There are a few things to keep in mind here.  Hemp flowers refer to the flowering buds of the hemp plant (Cannabis sativa) that are harvested when the plant is mature.

They differ from the flowers on marijuana plants.  Hemp flowers contain low levels of THC, as we mentioned before.  Instead, they have high CBD content.  This is the primary reason for their value.

Another thing is that hemp flowers contain various terpenes.  Those are aromatic compounds that contribute to the plant’s unique scent and flavor.Terpenes may also have their own potential health benefits.  They’re still being researched.

Like other cannabis plants, hemp flowers contain flavonoids.  These are compounds known for their antioxidant properties.  They can contribute to the therapeutic effects of the plant.  Not to mention, they can work combined with CBD.

Something to keep in mind is that they can be used in a lot of different things.  Hemp flowers can be used to extract CBD oil.  In turn, that oil can be utilized in tinctures, edibles, topicals, and vapes.

Some consumers choose to smoke or vaporize hemp flowers for a fast-acting method of consumption.Inhalation of the flowers allows for fast absorption of CBD into the bloodstream.

The dried flowers can also be made into tea.  When brewed, the tea can offer a flavorful way to consume cannabinoids and terpenes. Each of these options has its own pros and cons, so we must decide for ourselves what our preferred method is.

Overall, it’s easy to see why these flowers are so popular right now.  If you have any concerns about purchasing them, though, consult your local laws.
