Z-Library’s latest global initiative is changing the way students and teachers access information.
Washington, DC: Z-Library has become an essential online platform for educators and their students worldwide since its inception in 2009. The online library gives free access to over 14 million academic, scientific, and literary resources to those interested in this information.
Upon conducting a recent study, Z-Library discovered that they have reached over 30,000 educational entities, with over 600,000 students and teachers using their services. They also analyzed the locations of these entities and users by tracking the domain zones of their registered email addresses. The results revealed vast insights into their truly global reach.
Z-Library’s largest user bases are found in China, India, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom, though dozens of others also have thousands of users. Taiwan is another notable mention, with a significant user count compared to their population. They also analyzed institutions with the greatest number of users:
Z-Library also reveals that these numbers are estimates likely on the smaller side. Because not every teacher and student registers for the platform with their school email, there are likely thousands more individuals using the service than they can track back to a specific domain.
As previously noted, over 30,000 educational institutions worldwide have used Z-Library for both teachers and students. This reach is thanks to many of those institutions’ willingness to upload and share their own resources with users across the globe. These individuals have played an invaluable role in the growth of Z-Library over the last 14 years.
The top institutions that have contributed to their wealth of resources are as follows:
Wishing to breach beyond the digital realm, Z-Library has opened up several physical locations. These locations, called Z-Points, were first announced in late 2023 as places to offer in-person and online document and book access.
There are currently over 150 Z-Point locations across 42 countries, offering access to physical copies and the ability to upload more documents digitally.
They also offer a mail-in service that allows users to request books and other documents to be delivered right to their doorstep, another unique feature of these Z-Points.
Users will find the signup process easy, too. All they need is a phone camera to take photos of any books they want to donate and send them in using the platform. This ease of use makes Z-Lirbary and its services even more accessible to users across the globe.
